T&N Dairy Kreme Riverside Gear & Axle Mini Wedges Recap for 5/20/23
T&N Dairy Kreme Riverside Gear & Axle Mini Wedges kicked off race day on Saturday May 20th.
JUNIOR DIVISION HEAT RESULTS
Heat Race #1 line ups: Owen Ritter, Hudson Woodin, and Carson Vainner. When heat race 1 went green Owen Ritter jumped out to the early lead Carson Vainner moved up to second while Hudson Woodin got shuffled back to third. Caution came out at half way when Hudson Woodin hit the tires off of turn 4. The heat went back green until the checkered flag flew. Owen Ritter won the 1st heat race while Carson Vainner, and Hudson Woodin round out the field.
Heat Race #2 line up: Casen Garrett, Brooklyn Pierman, and Colby Brownlee. Green flag flew to start heat race #2 and Casen Garrett jumped out to the early lead. Colby Brownlee found an opening down low on Brooklyn Pierman to move up to 2nd. Garrett and Brownlee battled for the lead making contact and Colby Brownlee took over the lead. Casen Garrett would bring out our 1st caution hitting tires in turns 1&2 coming to a stop in the infield. Since the caution came out for Casen Garrett he had to go to the tail giving 2nd place to Brooklyn Pierman. Green cvame back out and Brownlee took a commanding jump on the field! Shortly after going back green caution came back out because Garrett and Pierman made contact. Casen Garrett was the caution car so Brooklyn Pierman got her spot back. Pierman and Garrett battle side by side after going back green Pierman able to hold off Garrett. Colby Brownlee won heat race #2 with Brooklyn Pierman came home 2nd and Casen Garrett 3rd.
Heat Race #3 line up: Brooklyn Pierman, Hudson Woodin, and Carson Vainner. Contact coming to the green flag between Woodin and Pierman. Pierman would jump out to the early lead. A caution free heat race. Brooklyn Pierman able to show the boys how it's done wins heat race #3 followed by Carson Vainner and Hudson Woodin.
Heat Race #4 line up: Casen Garrett, Owen Ritter, and Colby Brownlee. Owen Ritter picks up right where he left off from Heat 1 when the green flag flew. Casen Garrett brought out the 1st caution when he it an infield tire bringing it on to the track in 3 & 4. Complete restart since we did not get a lap in. Owen Ritter picks up right where he left off before the caution. Brownlee makes the pass on Garrett for 2nd. Owen Ritter won both of his heat races while a great effort by Colby Brownlee came home 2nd and Casen Garrett 3rd.
SENIOR DIVISION HEAT RESULTS
Heat Race #1 line up: Gracie Gurd, Bobby Johnson, Dylan Casaday, and Hunter Pierman. Green flag started heat 1 and Gracie Gurd is out to the early lead while Casaday and Johnson battle for 2nd. Dylan Casaday brings out the 1st caution spinning on his own in 1 & 2. Gracie Gurd brought the field to the restart and Bobby Johnson wastes no time and challenges Gurd for the lead and Johnson took the lead in 3. Green came back out and we stayed green until the end of the heat Bobby Johnson won with Gracie Gurd 2nd, Hunter Pierman 3rd, and Dylan Casaday 4th.
Heat Race #2 results: Abbey Myers 1st, Brooklyn Hopwood 2nd, LJ Pierman 3rd, and Peyton Robison 4th.
Heat Race #3 lineup: Brooklyn Hopwood, Peyton Robison, LJ Pierman, and Dylan Casaday. Brooklyn Hopwood jumps out to the early lead while LJ Pierman puts the pass on Peyton Robison for 2nd. Casaday puts the pass on Robison for 3rd. Then Robison took 3rd back as Casaday ran out of real estate in 4 going in to the infield. Brooklyn Hopwood wins Heat 3, with LJ Pierman 2nd, Peyton Robison 3rd, and Dylan Casaday 4th.
Heat Race #4 lineup: Hunter Pierman, Gracie Gurd, Bobby Johnson, and Abbey Myers. Hunter Pierman out to the early lead at the start. Bobby Johnson put the move on Gracie Gurd for second. Bobby Johnson new leader. Hunter Pierman had to go to the tail for hitting infield tires on the track bringing out our 1st caution. Bobby Johnson wins heat 4 while coming to the line Gurd and Myers put on a show for 2nd Abbey Myers took 2nd, Hunter Pierman 3rd, and Gracie Gurd came home 4th.
JR FEATURE Lineup: Colby Brownlee, Carson Vainner, Hudson Woodin, Brooklyn Pierman, Owen Ritter, and Casen Garrett. Green flag flies and Colby Brownlee jumps out to the early lead. Casen Garrett wastes no time and immediately takes over 3rd. Brooklyn Pierman brought out our 1st caution. Brooklyn Pierman went to the tail for bringing out the caution. Colby Brownlee led every lap of the Jr Feature! Carson Vainner 2nd, Casen Garrett 3rd, Owen Ritter 4th, Hudson Woodin 5th, and Brooklyn Pierman.
SR FEATURE Lineup: Peyton Robison, Brooklyn Hopwood, Gracie Gurd, Hunter Pierman, Abbey Myers, Dylan Casaday, and LJ Pierman. Brooklyn Hopwood takes the early lead at the start. Caution comes out for LJ Pierman spinning in turn 4. Coming back to the green flag Hopwood picks up where she left off. Caution comes out for the 2nd time as LJ Pierman hits the infield tires and tires found their way on to the track in 3 & 4. Feature went back green Hopwood again takes command of the field. Caution comes out again as LJ Pierman spins in turn 2. Caution comes out for the 4th time as Bobby Johnson and Abbey Myers make contact. Caution #5 comes out as Dylan Casaday spins in turn 4. Caution #6 comes out as Hunter Pierman spins in turn 2. Caution number 7 comes out as Dylan Casaday spins in 4. Caution #8 Bobby Johnson spins on the back stretch. Caution #9 comes out as Brooklyn Hopwood spins in 4. Caution #10 comes out as Hunter Pierman spins. Coming back to green Brooklyn Hopwood spins in 3 & 4 and brings out caution #11. After taking the green flag Bobby Johnson passes Hunter Pierman for 3rd. On the final lap coming to the checkered, Bobby Johnson gets by Gracie Gurd for 2nd and Hunter Pierman follows him for 3rd while Abbey Myers is our Sr Feature winner!
